Ried im Oberinntal

Let’s talks about Ried im Oberinntal, the home of Mozart Vital Hotel. The Tiroler Oberland area and Landeck are perfect for hiking and skiing holidays. Even when we talk about summer in Ried im Oberinntal, the Fendels and Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis ski areas are nearby…

Ried / Geography:

Ried welcomes its guests to the Upper Inntal valley, 84km west of Innsbruck in the district of Landeck. This is where the serpentines winding up the sunshine plateau of Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis and the Inntalstraße road running from Landeck towards Nauders and Reschenpass cross. Peacefully located in a sunny spot at an altitude of 876m, surrounded by the Ötztal Alps and the Samnaun mountain range. A picture-book Tirolean holiday village – not only because of Mozart Vital Hotel. Located in the heart of the Tiroler Oberland holiday region and near the three-country triangle of Austria, Switzerland and Italy, Ried im Oberinntal is a hub as far as the hiking and ski areas surrounding it are concerned: Fendels, Kauntertal Glacier, Reschenpass, Landeck and of course Fiss-Ladis and Serfaus, the figurehead of the Tiroler Oberland area.

Ried / History:

Ried was first chartered in the 12th century. It emerged around a tower that served to watch the Landeck Reschenpass route. Duke Sigmund of Austria had it converted into a hunting castle and it was from then on referred to as Sigmundsried. From 1550 onwards the castle served as a legal court; only in 1978 was the legal court transferred to Landeck. The entrance area features coats of arms and tendril paintings dating back to the 16th century. The parish church was first chartered in 1397 and is one of the most beautiful Baroque buildings found in the Tiroler Oberland today.

Ried / Holidays:

Ried has preserved its character and likes to stress its Tirolean qualities: in the summer the highlights are mountains, nature, water – the picturesque bathing lake with funpark and beach volleyball court, the lift crossing the gorge of Fendels brook and heading up to pastures and hiking trails. Furthermore the Via Claudia hiking trail in the valley leading along Inn River and, near the Anton-Renk hut, the “Fallende Bach” waterfall which is over 100m high. Summer attractions of Ried are the bathing lake and the Fendels lift – and the ski area of Fiss Serfaus Ladis is nearby too! The free Mozart ski shuttle brings you to Ladis and the Fiss-Serfaus lift, from where you can access the ski area in just 10 minutes. The only way to get there faster is by mouse-click. Serfaus – Fiss – Ladis Ski Area

If you google Ried im Oberinntal you get some 300,000 hits. Many are about summer holidays and winter holidays. The “bergfex” platform speaks of unlimited summer and winter pleasures as well as of the lake and the lift accessing the hiking and ski area…Where else would you want to set up a hotel?
